5 Day Tour of Scotland - April 2013

DAY 1: 10 April 2013 Edinburgh Area

Arrive 15:50 Hrs into Edinburgh airport.

Meet your Executive Coach and enjoy a panoramic tour of Edinburgh city before you transfer to your hotel.

Overnight in the Murrayfield Hotel, Edinburgh or similar.

 

DAY 2: 11 April 2013 Edinburgh – Pitlochry – Inverness area

Full Scottish Breakfast

Depart from your hotel after breakfast and enjoy your journey heading Northwards, taking in the beautiful scenery Scotland has to offer.

Stop off in the beautiful tourist town of Pitlochry and enjoy a visit to Edradour Distillery, the smallest distillery in Scotland, established in 1825.  Visitors can taste a hand-crafted single malt whisky.

Continue onto the next small village of Blair Atholl for a visit of Blair Castle,  a white turreted baronial castle, the traditional seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl. Visited by Mary, Queen of Scots and Queen Victoria.

Continue onto the Inverness area.

Overnight in the Mercure Inverness or similar

 

DAY 3: 12 April 2013 Day trip to Skye

Full Scottish Breakfast

Meet your coach and driver and make your way over towards the Kyle of Lochalsh  with a visit to Eilean Donan Castle in Dornie before crossing the Skye Bridge for a day tour of the Island.

Return to your hotel as above for overnight.

Overnight as above.

 

DAY 4: 13 April 2013 Inverness – Oban – Glasgow – Edinburgh

Full Scottish Breakfast

Depart Inverness following the banks of Loch Ness, watch out for the loch’s mysterious inhabitant NESSIE.

From here continue South past Fort William, this town is overshadowed by Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, 4,406 ft. and onto Oban, a harbour town, where you can enjoy some free time.

Continue to Edinburgh for overnight.

Overnight in the Murrayfield Hotel, Edinburgh or similar

 

DAY5: 14 April Departure

Breakfast and transfer by private bus to Edinburgh Airport. In time for flight back at 7.05 a.m. to Milan Malpensa

 

The Scottish Experience

Incredibile ma vero! sono già passate tre settimane dal nostro ritorno dalla Scozia. Siamo partiti in venti e tornati in venti amici. I dei nordici hanno sorriso, più o meno, durante il nostro soggiorno, permettendoci di apprezzare la bellezza di Edimburgo e la serenita di Inverness con il sole, l’austero fascino dei castelli e degli Highlands senza pioggia e la cima di Ben Nevis (beh, quasi!) con una spruzzata di neve.

 

Ci siamo immersi nella cultura locale bevendo whisky e mangiano la fauna; haggis (non chiedere che cosa sia) fish (and chips!) e cervo! Abbiamo persino sentito una poesia composta in onore della gita dal nostro simpaticissimo amico Carlo, il quale ha fatto notare che tutto si è svolto in armonia e allegria grazie al gruppo straordinario. Ringraziamo Pietro Cabano per l’organizzazione impeccabile. Non vediamo l’ora di ripartire!!!
