Adult Courses

LEVEL Course Description Day/Time
1st level
complete beginners
Starting from the ABC students will acquire a basic level of competence in comprehension and expression in English Wednesday 20.00-21.30
2nd level
elementary
For students who know some of the basics and who wish to have a better understanding of elementary grammar and language useful for travel To be decided
3rd level
pre-intermediate (lower)
For students who wish to expand on the basic structures to allow them a better level of comprehension and oral expression Wednesday 18.30-20.00
4th level
pre-intermediate (higher)
For students who aim to widen their vocabulary in order to improve their comprehension of written and spoken English and to practise conversation in English Monday 20.00-21.30
5th level Intermediate For students who have an extensive vocabulary and understanding of grammar who wish to achieve fluency and improve their comprehension Group 1 Monday 18.30-20.00
Group 2 Thursday 19.00-20.30
Upper Intermediate level   For students who can speak fluently but wish to work on accuracy. At this level students may be interested in preparing for the First Certificate exam  Thursday 19.00-20.30
Advanced level This is for students who have no difficulty in expressing themselves and understanding spoken English. The course provides the opportunity to enrich their vocabulary and knowledge of idiomatic language and to practise conversation skills. Tuesday 20.00-21.30
The adult courses take place in the evening since most members have day-time commitments, however should members be interested in morning or lunchtime courses we are open to suggestions. The courses are divided into two four-month terms consisting of 14 lessons of 90 minutes.
The courses are open only to members of the association. Participants on courses will be required to buy a course book once a year in general. Anyone interested in information about courses should telephone us to book an informal appointment.
